Medicinal Cannabis Production
Balavat Bayu is in the development of Cannabis-based medical products. Its focus is on producing high-quality CBD and other medical derivatives contributing to the growing demand for alternative and natural medical solutions.Balavat Bayu was exclusively responsible to initiate the legalisation of cannabis in Sri Lanka and new policies have been drawn up for this purpose. Cannabis is now known as medicinal plants solely for medical purposes which has been approved in the Parliament with an allocation of 100 acres to Balavat Bayu for cultivation, processing, and distribution.

Aquaculture
Efforts are underway to establish an aquaculture facility in Malaysia dedicated to the
sustainable cultivation of Sri Lankan mud crabs. This would address the high market
demand for these crabs, which is driven by their superior size and meat quality.
In partnership with Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), we are conducting pioneering
research and development to devise techniques for breeding all-male crabs. These crabs
are preferred in the market for their larger size and greater meat yield. A government-
approved grant supports this initiative.
The aquaculture facility at UMT is fully operational and equipped with state-of-the-art
infrastructure, ensuring optimal research and development outcomes for this project.
This project aims to create significant economic value, promote sustainable aquaculture
practices, and contribute to scientific advancements. We are excited about the progress and
the potential impact of this initiative.
